Subscribers offer their views on Parsiana’s strengths and weaknesses on the subscription renewal form returned to us. Unless another name is affixed to the remarks, Parsiana assumes they are written by the subscriber whose name appears on the form.
Parsiana’s strengths: Unbiased and varied. Shortcomings: Sometimes too liberal.
ABAN SAROSH BANA
Parsiana is informative, educative, right logical thinking as far as religious matters are concerned. It is an excellent periodical overall for bawas. Shortcomings: None. Keep up the good work.
SHAHRUKH K. DARUWALLA
Parsiana’s strengths are impartial coverage of events; global coverage of events and personalities; fairly good design with photographs, wherever possible; wide spectrum of topics regarding Parsi affairs. Shortcomings: Topics of interest to young people and women should be included. The magazine should have articles on holiday destinations with information about accommodation, etc (as Gustasp Irani used to write in Voyage magazine).
VEERA N. DASTOOR
.
Parsiana’s strengths: Wide global coverage, interesting subjects, analytic and incisive editorial, detailed and authentic reporting, good layout and photographs. Shortcomings: Could cover more social and youth oriented subjects/events. Our youth in India should know what their counterparts are doing in the USA, UK and get more motivated to excel in business or employment.
DOLLY DHAMODIWALA
Parsiana keeps me in touch with my community worldwide. You should add some light articles too — devote a page to jokes, puzzles, etc.

The editors reply:
We thought Parsi politics made for entertaining, if not humorous, reading.
Good all round coverage, neutral regarding religious matters. Please include articles on Iranian history from the Peshdadian Dynasty via Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, Parsi history in India post Sanjan, and letters from overseas Parsi communities on a regular basis.
PHIROZE J. KUTAR
The editors reply:
Our first priority is current development. We do carry the occasional piece on history and tradition.
Parsiana provides neutral coverage and highlights important news of the Parsi community.
KERSI P. MAHUDAWALA
Parsiana’s strengths: Excellent coverage. You are correct in allowing my views to be published in your magazine. Shortcomings: The general public impression is that you seem to lean towards the reformists (this is not my view), so please allow the orthodox to be heard equally to offset this impression. Would you welcome an article on our need to survive?
CYRUS S. MEHERJI
Calcutta
The editors reply:
Yes, certainly. All readers are welcome to write.
Parsiana’s strengths: Covering all aspects and giving a lot of good information to all your readers. Shortcomings: None.
