Khambatta not to contest
The West Zone B vice president of the Federation of the Parsi Zoroastrian Anjumans of India (FPZAI) and the founder chairman of the World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis (WAPIZ) Areez Khambatta is reportedly not seeking another term of office in the all-India body. The next meeting of the FPZAI is to be held in Bombay on September 13 and 14, 2014. No reason has been cited for Khambatta’s reported refusal but community observers note that for a considerable period of time the voluble self-made millionaire has not been emailing his vituperative letters to FPZAI delegates.

Areez Khambatta: not seeking office?
Khambatta is a former president and trustee of the Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat (APP) and founder of the Rasna soft drink concentrate.
Possible candidates for the post could include APP president Brig (Retd) Jahangir Anklesaria or Homi Pithavala of Bardoli. Jamshed Dotivala, trustee of the Surat Parsi Panchayat reportedly says he will not contest the vice president’s office.
