“A tale of two mails”

"A tale of two mails”
Humor can convey a more subtle message to our Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) trustees rather than the meaningless transcripts of emails printed in the Parsi Press ("A tale of two mails,” Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, July 7, 2014).
The private and confidential emails exchanged between the trustees are either leaked or published as cheap publicity to score points over each other and gain some popularity among the voters. Rarely have I come across a debate or controversy worthy of mention. The community at large and especially the needy ones running around for years for accommodation are well aware of subjectivity prevailing over merit.
Instead of highlighting a weak case which ran afoul of the law, the vigilant trustees could have selected a more appropriate case.
I don’t think trusteeship elections can bring any change. What is needed is a full time team of effective executives supervising social workers who have the necessary expertise in various activities and the community’s interests at heart. The BPP is too large an organization to be run by part-time honorary trustees. We need visionaries, not big names alone.
