Indulging their egos
Two Parsi lawyers are among the nine in the team fighting for the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) in the Supreme Court of India in the so-called "renegade” priests’ case.
Had the BPP trustees not banned the two properly ordained priests from saying funeral prayers for deceased Parsis who opt for alternate modes of disposal, not even one lawyer would have been required in any court! And the three crore rupees spent on litigation could have been used to help poor, elderly Parsis. But the BPP trustees want to indulge their own egos at the expense of the community.
