Modi’s "incessant efforts to inculcate the necessity for education for the rural girl child” has earned for her the Dr Sushila Nayar and The Real Heroes Awards and her "sensitivity to woman power, establishing hope and strength in underdeveloped areas” enabled them to look forward to a better tomorrow, the citation states.
Earlier recipients of the award include social activist Anna Hazare and renowned gynecologist the late Dr Banoo Coyajee of Poona, reveals Modi in an email.
