New committee in Madras
Darius S. Bahadurji was unanimously elected president of the Madras Parsi Zarthosti Anjuman (MPZA) at its annual general meeting held on September 29, 2012 at the Phiroj Clubwala Memorial Hall, Royapuram in Madras. He took over the reins from Dadiba S. Dalal who resigned after holding the post for six years, Zarin Mistry informed Parsiana via the email. The five other members of the executive committee who were similarly elected are Firdause H. Jila, vice president, Pervez S. Mulla, honorary secretary, Dalal, honorary treasurer, Perviz D. Bhote and Jehanbux N. Amrolia, committee members. For several years now the MPZA "has not held ‘elections’ per se,” explains Mistry. "Outgoing committee members approach those who will be willing to take on the post. These new members are then proposed, seconded and unanimously elected.”
