“A life presumed lost”

Thank you for the article on Mehera Jussawalla ("A life presumed lost,” Parsiana, April 21, 2012). I found this rare, unusual picture of her in fancy dress (she is in the center in feathered finery) which I think may be of interest to readers.

Mehera Aunty was my grand-aunt. Her 100th year is an affirmation of how she lives on, in the way she deeply impacted the lives of those who knew her. She was generous and she quietly concealed her acts of kindness. I was awed by her graciousness and the aesthetic way she lived. Her creativity transformed the ordinary. We would chat freely in her cosy kitchen and the two generations that separated us, disappeared. I feel grateful that she is still a part of my life.
