ZYNG calendar 2012

The ZYNG (Zoroastrian Youth for the Next Generation) calendar for 2012 featuring a dozen female and three male models was launched in Bombay by film personalities Boman Irani and Farah Khan on January 26, 2012. Though the January page features three bare topped sudreh-less macho men in low slung jeans, and the other months showcase girls in revealing outfits, there has been no adverse comment from the moral brigade which had reacted vociferously on seeing last year’s spicy offering.
Sponsored by Club7 Holidays, the calendar provides a platform for models Dina Ginwalla, Jenai Kavarana, Arnavaz Kolah, Ellen Modi, Anahita Dotiwalla, Maia Sethna, Dilkhush Reporter, Zenaika Daruwalla, Benisha Bhesania, Alyssa Chesson, Scherezade Contractor, Sherry Shroff, Xereus Zend, Rayomand Irani and Rohaan Mubarakai. Designed and printed by Spenta Multimedia, it was conceptualized by Pearl Tirandaz, Viraf Mehta and Reporter, with Dilshad Ukaji responsible for hair and make-up design, Farzan Randelia doing the photography at Alibaug’s Friendship Farm and Sherry Shroff as fashion stylist along with "constant help and support” from Anaita Shroff Adajania, the credits acknowledge. Designers Sonya Vajifdar, Shivan and Narresh, Nisshk by Nishka Lulla and Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika Sharma created the outfits.

Hot bods sizzle in the ZYNG Calendar 2012

Apart from its glamor quotient, the ZYNG calendar provides brief notes on who the Zoroastrians are, the three calendars followed by them, the rozs and their significance. "You can use these days to your advantage: open a bank account on Ashishvang roz for good fortune and wealth; sign a contract on Meher roz for it to be secure; thinking of children? Choose Ram roz; want to succeed? Let Bahram roz help you,” it advises.
Formed under the aegis of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet a little over two years ago, ZYNG states it has almost 4,000 members. A calendar note mentions that ZYNG has conducted and supported over 50 events since its inception. In addition to entertainment for the youth, ZYNG has "put major emphasis on serving the needy of the community through its various collection and distribution drives,” notes the calendar write up. For its social activities, the ZYNG committee hopes to mop up revenue through sale of the calendar at Rs 300 a pop, available in wall hanging form as well as a desktop version.
