“Kadmi New Year”

In the letter "Kadmi New Year” (Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, July 7, 2011) reference has been made to Dhanjisha Manjishaw, a prominent businessman of Surat around the early/mid 1700s. He was an extensive jagirdar (landowner), owner of ships and coastal vessels and traded extensively with China and Bombay. He was also a broker to the English and politically influential.

I wish to know more about the life of Dhanjisha Manjishaw, particularly his genealogy and his link with the family of the late Dhanjisha Sethna of Surat. I would be deeply grateful for information conveying this lineal descent, for an eventual documentary.
