Saronda adaran
We the trustees of the Saronda Parsi Jarthosti Anjuman, which was established in YZ 1249 have been maintaining the holy atash padshah adaran saheb which is originally from Umra but was brought to Saronda on November 30, 1906. During this span of 104 years (1906-2010) boi for all five gahs has been offered without interruption, thanks to the selfless service of the panthakis of Saronda village.
The trustees have purchased a plot of land attached to our adaran saheb which has been constantly under threat by non-Parsi buyers, as sale to them would have disturbed the sanctity of the place. This was made possible through the publication of a souvenir and generous donations from philanthropic Zoroastrians from India and abroad during the centenary year celebrations in 2006-2007. Bombay Parsi Punchayet chairman Dinshaw Mehta, his co-trustees as well as trustees of various anjumans have helped us generously for the maintenance of our atash padshah saheb as and when assistance was required.
The next salgirah of our adaran saheb is on Adar mah, Daepdin roz. We will have a thanksgiving jashan and gahanbar where no less than 300 people will participate in prayers and have lunch with us.
There are a number of Sarondaites well placed in society who have been giving service to the community and to our fire temple. We are thankful to them and to our president emeritus, Ervad Godrej R. Panthaky of the Banaji Limji Agiary, who has been ever helpful and a source of inspiration for us.
