Headed for Hollywood
Bubbly and vivacious former anchor and VJ (video jockey) Shenaz Treasury-wala has turned screenplay writer, with her sights set firmly on Hollywood. The untitled English film, to be produced by US-based writer-producer Rob Long, is "a comedy about the dilemmas of young women looking for love and matrimony in modern Mumbai,” Treasurywala informed The Indian Express (IE) dated June 26, 2009.

Shenaz Treasurywala: a talent for writing
"I wrote the screenplay when I took time off and was living between Hong Kong, Bangkok, Bombay and Los Angeles. I was in my living-out-of-a-suitcase phase,” Treasurywala revealed. At present she is busy casting the Indian parts of the movie. "We already have Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks’ son) for one of the roles — he has already given us a letter of intent saying he wants to be part of this film… Shooting will begin as soon as the casting is done,” she told IE. But since the film is in the financing stage, she refused to divulge more details.
Though Trea-surywala insists she has a talent for writing, she admits she was fortunate to find a producer so soon. "It was in LA that I met Rob… known for his popular TV show Cheers. I told him about my screenplay and asked him to read it. He called me a few days later saying he read it, loved it and wanted to produce it,” an excited Treasurywala informed IE. "The screenplay was later shown to the Creative Artists Agency who found it hilarious,” she added.
