Act of cowardice

On June 23, 2009 I received in my mailbox a photocopy of a bail order dated June 15, 2009 in respect of some Zoroastrian person. I inquired with my neighbors as to who that person was. They told me that they too had received similar photocopies. Fortunately, none of us knew who the person was. However, it was obvious that some mischievous element was trying to malign someone who might have been in trouble.
This is an act of cowardice. Why should someone go out of the way to send photocopies of a bail order and distribute them to others just to spoil that person’s name? Why are we Parsis indulging in such acts of mental sickness?
Once, in the past, when very few of us knew what e-mail was, someone had written to The Times of India, using a fake e-mail identity, about the internal domestic unpleasantness involving my friend, his wife and parents. Even worse, a resident of that Parsi colony had pasted a copy of the letter on the colony’s notice board, to defame my friend and his family. I want such people to know that these are the acts of a coward. Brave men fight openly and fearlessly.
Distributing photocopies and pasting them on notice boards with malafide intent to malign our fellow Zoroastrians are acts of mental sickness and should be condemned. The Zoroastrian religion does not encourage cowardice, backbiting and hitting out from a hiding place. Why not do something good for someone instead of speaking ill of people?
