Appeal for funds

We thank all those who responded so spontaneously and graciously to our earlier appeal for donations for the repairs and restoration of Ahmedabad’s Paak Vakil Anjuman Aaduraan. With your help, care, concern and because of the untiring physical labor of love and dedication of our Parsi volunteers who call themselves the "Yuzdaan group,” we have completed this marathon task successfully.

The spiraling costs of material, additional repairs which cropped up during the repairs, the sudden caving-in of our well, etc have increased the costs, which have far exceeded our earlier estimates and budgeting exercise. Moreover, it is our conviction that there are many other humdins who may have felt left out from participating in this noble cause for reason/s or circumstances that may not have allowed them to donate earlier.

To commemorate 75 years of the Paak Vakil Anjuman Aaduraan, the Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat is bringing out a souvenir. The size of the souvenir would be A4. Advertisements, by way of donations, will be Rs 2,000 for a quarter page, Rs 4,000 for a half page and Rs 10,000 for a full page, all in black and white. No donation is too small when it comes from a well-meaning heart and all donations will be gratefully accepted, whether by cash or by cheque drawn in favor of the Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat. Donations may be forwarded to Ahmedabad Parsi Panchayat, Bokhara Mohulla, Khamasa, Ahmedabad 380001. Please insist on a proper receipt for the amount donated, which will be eligible for exemption under Section 80G of the Income-Tax Act 1961. K. J. SHETHNA
