Zoroastrian spirit

The bright golden star of the Zoroastrian spirit is apparent on the horizon when we see the trustees of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) determined to unitedly march on the right track in the right direction.
It is said in the Gathas that every gloomy night gives way to a much better and brighter morning. The team of trustees started its mission with a jashan to thank God and a gahanbar to enhance cooperation with community members in the true Zoroastrian spirit and to ensure better results.
Ahura Mazda bestows vohu mana, good sense, on those who are ready to devote themselves to the good cause. It is reported that the team has decided to iron out past differences, bury the hatchet, set aside the conflicts and work together as a family.
All the trustees have declared that they will compromise to avoid controversies, solve problems round the table, respect the trust deed, firmly preserve and protect time-tested tenets and traditions. "Ushering unity for peace, progress and prosperity;” "Work with fervor for opening the new chapter for the welfare of the community;” "Let us start with new leaf, forgetting past acrimony and animosity;” "Look forward to working together in peace, justice and harmony to bring back renewed trust in the heart and mind of our community members and bring glory of our cultural heritage” are some of the confirmations proclaimed by these trustees. Can we not trust these confirmations? Under the leadership of an experienced captain we can expect our ship to safely reach harbor in future.
As stated in the prayer Yatha, Shyothnanam (the implication of promises) is most effective. To extend a helping hand to the needy is a blessed mission, as has been decided on by the BPP. Now Asnide kherad (insight and farsighted vision) will bring about a favorable change.
We expect fruitful results with annual celebrations of jashans and gahanbars to enhance unity. The BPP has to prove that it is the Best Progressive Panel through its achievements. For this, the cooperation of community members is required. Since the community has shown its inclination against liberal attitudes it must be prepared for the necessary changes and challenges with an open mind and with goodwill.
Zarathushtra had proclaimed in the Gathas that "Good sense will prevail at last, which is the plan of Ahura Mazda.” We are happy to witness this now in the changed determination of the BPP trustees.
May Srosh Yazad guide and give shelter to all of us for our survival with the Zoroastrian spirit. Let us all determine to pray together and stay together to bring about harmony and peace.
