BPP’s appeal for police
During the three nights and three days when terror reigned over the city of Bombay resulting in the loss of many innocent lives of men, women and children, we saw men of extraordinary courage and dedication fight a relentless battle against the forces of evil. These brave men, members of Bombay’s police force, were brutally gunned down while confronting terrorists so that the citizens may live in safety and peace.
Today, in our own small way we honor them for how they lived and died. The Parsi/Irani community prays for all those who sacrificed their lives for the city of Bombay and India as a nation. Our tribute will be meaningless unless we recommit ourselves to supporting the police force who keep our society safe and secure.
The trustees of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) have decided to collect donations to help the family members of those brave policemen who died or were injured in the line of duty during the 26/11 terrorist attack. The BPP will contribute five lakh rupees for this. Readers are requested to send donations in the name of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet Funds and Properties, 209, Dr Dadabhai Naoroji Road, Fort, Bombay 400001. After accumulation, the sum will be forwarded to the Commissioner of Police, Bombay. All contributions will be duly acknowledged.
