Thana’s tribute
The Parsi/Irani community of Thana spontaneously came out in good numbers along with other sister communities on December 6, 2008 to attend a condolence meeting for all those who lost their lives in the November 26 terrorist attack on Bombay, Pervez Bhesania, vice president of the Thana Parsi Zoroastrian Anjuman informed Parsiana via an e-mail.
The public meeting was held in memory of the many officers, havaldars, National Security Guards, members of the police, waiters, hotel staff and innocent victims of this horrible tragedy. Many of these people perished in the line of duty and all were killed for no fault of their own except the misfortune of being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Thana residents at condolence meet for victims of terror attack
The city was "shaken to the core by this most brazen display of hate and terror,” the e-mail states, and the residents of Thana city came together to express their unconditional support and solidarity for the survivors and families of victims as well as to pledge that such horrific events are never repeated in our lifetimes. The meeting became a "rallying cry” to affix the responsibility with the Government of India so that it becomes more responsive and responsible regarding its duties in future, Bhesania’s e-mail concludes.
