Minaz Ginwalla of Baroda, a student of Craft Creative Communications at the prestigious Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, was selected as one of the 41 finalists out of 2,200 entries received for the 2007 IBDAA awards instituted by Dubai Media City (DMC). Students from all over the world participated in various categories of advertising, and Ginwalla was nominated for her print advertisement for UNESCO on "Illiteracy in India,” informs Cyrus J. Dotivala of Surat in a write-up sent to Parsiana.

Minaz Ginwalla: media talent

Launched in 2001 under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, the IBDAA Media Student Awards were initiated by DMC to recognize, nurture and promote young media talent. The annual event is organized by DMC in association with the International Advertising Association. All the finalists for 2007 were sponsored by IBDAA for a five-day stay in Dubai, where they had the opportunity to interact with the Sheikh’s eldest son Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, give television and media interviews and receive certificates at the hands of the director of DMC, writes Dotivala.
At the grand dinner hosted by DMC in honor of the successful students on December 27, 2007, Ginwalla was accompanied by her proud parents Meher and Aspi. Ginwalla, who wishes to pursue a career in advertising with a reputed company, is engaged to Mazdiyar Bapuna of Gwalior, Dotivala informs in his write-up.
