Environmental studies

A text book, Environmental Studies for Undergraduate Courses has become popular among students in India. The author, Prof Erach Bharucha, director of the Institute of Environmental Studies of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University in Poona has written the book in simple, clear, grammatical prose, making it easy for students to understand. Seeing the deteriorating environment in the country, the Supreme Court of India had directed the University Grants Commission to introduce a basic course on environmental education for undergraduate courses. Bharucha has done an excellent job in writing this book.

Published by the Universities Press, Hyderabad and priced at just Rs 125, the book has 292 pages. It is hoped that in the years to come we will see much more work done by Bharucha.
