Zoroastrians Abroad
Achiever Javat
A journalist who writes for several publications in Canada and elsewhere, Teenaz Javat graduated at the top of her class with high honors and was awarded the President’s medal for academic excellence, notes the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario (ZSO) newsletter of July 2008. Not content with her masters in economics from India and an Ontario graduate certificate in journalism from Sheridan College, Oakville, Javat pursued her profession — journalism — in its academic avatar.
Teenaz Javat: media focus
Featured in Toronto’s Mille Femmes exhibit at the Luminato Festival of Arts and Culture which celebrates the lives of 1,000 creative women from across the Greater Toronto area, Javat’s creativity has been recognized. Holding a casual job in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Javat lives with her husband Mahveer and their two children Sherezade and Hormuz in Mississauga, notes the newsletter.
