Nani Palkhivala Award

The Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust was set up in 2004 to perpetuate the memory of one of India’s finest jurists and human beings. Apart from instituting gold medals in eight universities in the country to be awarded to the top students in LLM, the Trust has also instituted the Nani Palkhivala Award for protection and preservation of civil liberties in India. This award is given annually to individuals and also to organizations.

The fourth awards in the series are to be given in January 2009. The Trust invites nominations for the award. In the case of individuals, nominations are to be sent by others recommending the individual for the award, while in case of organizations they can apply directly.
