Nani Palkhivala Award

The Nani A. Palkhivala Memorial Trust has invited nominations for the sixth Nani Palkhivala Award for Civil Liberties. This will be given to an individual or individuals and/or organizations who or which have displayed extraordinary initiative in the preservation and defence of the civil liberties in India. The award carries a cash prize of one lakh rupees and a citation in each category.

The panel of judges for the award comprises Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, Justice Sujata Manohar and Justice Sam Variava, both former judges of the Supreme Court of India.

Nominations should reach the trust before the end of October 2010.
