FEZANA’s new office
The 20-year-old Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) is moving towards a more professional profile. That a majority of the member associations have voted to establish a permanent office in Chicago is a sign of the increasing maturity of the Zoroastrian community on that continent.
To be located at 8615 Meadowbrook Drive, Burr Ridge, Illinois 60527, the call is out for a professional part-time administrator to "facilitate the work of elected officials and committee chairpersons, helping to build strong relationships with stakeholders.”
The call for applications from FEZANA honorary secretary Firuzi Poonevalla on Zoroastrian News Agency’s (ZNA) yahoogroups website seeks a graduate of a recognized university with three to five years of administrative experience, proficient in English with good writing and computer skills — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, in particular. He/she is expected to be a good and effective communicator, and to demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork.
"You will receive and answer inquiries from individuals and organizations throughout the world…You will be proficient in record keeping and have a track record of exceeding expectations and delivering service excellence. Book-keeping knowledge, Gujarati and Persian language skills will be helpful,” Poonevalla spells out the expectations from the individual willing to work about 80 hours a month on a starting stipend ranging between US $ 800-1,000.
