“Parsi Renaissance”

I agree with Mehelli Bhagalia ("Parsi Renaissance,” Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, February 7, 2007) that we need a thorough understanding of our religion and customs through books, CDs, VCDs, DVDs and songs to preserve our heritage in easily understood language and possibly in pictorial, comic book story style.
We have a dearth of literature (the teleserial Humata, Hukhata, Huvarshta is doing a great service in its own limited manner). We have abundant material, but it is very expensive or abstruse hence out of reach of most.
For example, tales from the Shahnameh in a comic book, pictorial style would be commendable. Today’s children would acquire knowledge easily through animated cartoons and pictorial depiction of our tenets. If such efforts were subsidized, they would help create awareness and interest in our religion, putting an end to intermarriages.
