Gurus of grooming

On December 1, 2006 Navroz and Poonam Vakil launched GroomingDales in Bombay, bringing with them 15 years of experience from their venture formerly located in Bangalore. The honors were done by Yukta Mookhey, Miss World 1999, who is on their 21-member celebrity studded panel. Claiming to be "not just another grooming school (but) the passion of each and every person connected with it,” GroomingDales has mentored the success stories of Diana Hayden and many prominent actors, models and corporate executives, claims the press release.

Felicitated on the occasion was Tanya Vakil, third runner-up Miss India 2006 and first runner-up Miss Tourism International at the pageant held in China. Tanya, niece of the founder, was trained by Mickey Mehta of 360º who is on GroomingDale’s panel. Mehta says that 22-year-old Tanya, an interior designer by profession, was a complete novice to the glamor world. She is the eighth international pageant winner he has helped to train. Her height being just 5’7’’ was a major drawback at the Miss India stakes, but she walked away with two titles — Miss Catwalk and Miss Iron Maiden (Miss Super-fit).
In an increasingly competitive world the need for professional excellence is pressing and GroomingDales aims to provide training in leadership, effective communication, personal presentation and other strategic skills to people from all walks of life. Noted voice artiste and trainer Khodus Wadia is also on GroomingDale’s panel. For inquiries regarding the institute contact 24459894, 24459869 or e-mail at info@grooming dales.in.
