Hind Rattan for Noria

Noted pathologist, entrepreneur and the Zoroastrian Society of Ontario’s (ZSO) ace fund raiser, Dr Dhun Noria received the Hind Rattan Award presented by the NRI Welfare Society of India for her outstanding services, achievements and contributions as a non-resident Indian in Canada, notes the ZSO Newsletter. The event on January 26, 2006 reminded her of the time when Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had presented her with the All India Best Cadet in the National Cadet Corps trophy on India’s Republic Day many years ago.

Noria: recognition unlimited

In 2005 India’s consul general in Toronto had nominated her for the prestigious Bharatiya Pravasi Divas Award given by the Prime Minister to 10 outstanding persons of Indian origin around the world. The World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce, USA, and the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce, Toronto, had endorsed her as the Businesswoman of the Year 2004, adds the Newsletter.
Noria’s enthusiastic work for ZSO’s Building Capital Campaign had netted Can $ 1,972,700 by mid February. Then short of $ 227,300 for the goal of $ 2.2 million for the total revamp of the Mehraban Guiv Darbe Mehr, Noria had worked hectically for the Dream Ball in April, the last of the major fundraising activities she had set herself.
