“The editors reply”

In the August 7, 2005 issue of Parsiana, four of the six published letters, including one from the undersigned, were replied to by "The editors.” This is an unusual phenomenon, when nearly 66 percent of the letters published required "The editors reply.”
Generally, it is an editor of a newspaper, magazine or journal, who replies to queries from its readers.
No offence is meant. A query has arisen which only "The editor” of Parsiana should respond to.

The editors reply
Adenwalla is a perceptive reader. We thank him for bringing the trend to our attention. Some letters seem to require a comment from the editors but by and large we like our readers to have the last word. We switched from "The editor’s reply” to "The editors reply,” because the magazine reflects the views of all the editors. Other publications had initiated this trend and seeing merit in their approach we have done similarly.
