Whither, Parsiana?
Since its inception Parsiana was published as a monthly magazine for many years. A couple of years back it became a semimonthly journal. I am just wondering whether Parsiana can become a weekly magazine. Would there be sufficient Parsi matters to project every week? Would it be financially viable?
If there is a possibility of Parsiana becoming a weekly, I would suggest that either the first or last issue of the month could contain articles by eminent men and women from our community. Let these writers become regular contributors in fields in which they excel. For instance, Soli Sorabjee could write on legal matters while scholars could write on the Zoroastrian religion, etc.

As it is people complain they have no time to read two issues a month, leave aside making it four or more. And we are stressed out enough maintaining two deadlines. But we’ll keep the suggestion in mind in case some new medical advance can increase our energy levels sufficiently.

I refer to the Parsiana issue dated August 21, 2007, priced at Rs 49. Please do not make the issues of your magazine so large because it increases the price, one has to read it for a very long time, and it’s too bulky to take to bed! It’s nice reading though!

The bulky issue brings in the advertising revenue that subsidizes the regular issues and enables us to peg the annual subscription rate at Rs 500. Since we thankfully have more advertisers, we need more editorial content. Our apologies for the extra weight. But advertisers/readers expect good quality paper.
