“Prime performers”

With reference to the write-up on Brig Soli Pavri ("Prime performers,” Par-siana, August 2004) the correct reading should be: "He still remembers with awe ‘the sheer personality of the man’ (Gen K. S. Thimmaya) and notes that the over 200-year-old regiment had received India’s first Param Vir Chakra in the year 1947 which was awarded to Maj Somnath Sharma (Post) who was from the 4th Kumaon Regiment.”

During 1962 action the Param Vir Chakra was awarded to Maj Dhansingh Thapa, 1/8 Gorkha Rifles.
