“Darkness at noon”
For the first time I read Parsiana and came across the article "Darkness at noon” (Parsiana, March 2004). The article is written in quite a bad taste and if the aim is to make Parsi readers feel ashamed about the dark skin stereotype, then it is targeted to a very low intelligence audience. Though Parsiana comes to my house from my brother’s place, and my late father-in-law and now my wife read it I never used to read the same thinking it must be having some Parsi koyli (rotten) stories. My apprehension was vindicated on reading the above article, which is unfortunately given the prominent first pages. I could not go any further than that and probably will not try to read this magazine ever again. I feel there are better ways of putting your views to intelligent readership than this.
