Zoroastrians Abroad
Bam relief
Among the thousands who perished in the earthquake that hit the city of Bam in the Kerman province of Iran were at least 10 Zoroastrians, according to the January 2004 ZTFE newsletter. Several remain missing and those who survived have been rendered homeless and impoverished. The ZTFE launched the Bam Earthquake Relief Fund and the collection up to the time of writing in the newsletter was over £ 3,500.
According to an e-mail from Bahman Noruziaan on the "creating awareness” site, the Hong Kong anjuman had donated US $ 25,000 for the relief efforts of those affected (especially the Zarathushtis) through the Consulate General of Iran in Hong Kong.
