Winter relief

We the members of the Zoroastrian Winter Relief Fund are doggedly going on with our aim to help the financially weak strata of our community. Hundreds come to us seeking medical, educational, financial and other aid like food, shelter, clothing, etc. We even assist in our limited capacity deserving people for religious ceremonies like navjote, marriage or funeral.

This year we are faced with greater financial stress as interest and savings of our well-wishers reached a low ebb. In the financial year ended March 2005 our collection by way of donations from individuals and institutes was Rs 1,58,000. Besides giving priority to education and medical help we spent on distribution of food, clothing and even shelter amongst community members in Gujarat, Hyderabad and Maharashtra. Unfortunately we had to turn down many other deserving persons due to our limited resources.

We would like to especially thank Katy and Faredoon Kapadia of Surat and our well-wishers Zarine Bahmani, Yasmin and Kati Mistry and many others who have worked with us.

All contributions may be sent in cash or crossed cheques drawn in favor of "Zoroastrian Winter Relief Fund” to Kumi J. Daroowala, 16/1, Rustom Baug, Sant Savta Marg, Byculla, Bombay 400027.
