Valuing volunteers

Twenty-seven volunteers who during the 25 years of its existence have given their voluntary services to the Charitable Homeopathic Dispensary at Nowroze Baug were felicitated with a citation at the silver jubilee function on November 8, 2003. The pioneering work of the late Burjorji Bharucha and the late Dr Sarosh Wadia was recalled by Nariman Mehta, president of The Nowroze Baug Play Centre which was celebrating its 58th anniversary at the same function. He also referred to the commitment of consulting physician Dr Jehangir Major who has been associated with the Dispensary since its inception. As Major presented the mementos to 23 recipients he called upon the younger generation to take over the responsibility, notes a report of the event.
The program commenced with a prayer sung by Sanober Reporter after which 13-year-old Pearl Bhumgara and her six-year-old sister Zenia under the guidance of their father Mhelly kept the audience entertained with their magic show for one hour.
