Nowroze Baug Play Centre

Be a self made person, was the advice proffered by chief guest Perin S. Bagli, principal of Activity High School, to youth at the 61st anniversary celebrations of the Nowroze Baug Play Centre in Lalbaug on November 19, 2006. Success comes after many obstacles and one should accept the challenge, Bagli said.
Shirzad H. Bhathena, joint secretary of the Play Centre welcomed the guests, while Yasmin R. Engineer introduced the judges of the fancy dress and talent competition in which children from three to 15 years participated. The contest, compered by Pinky Bharucha, was followed by the screening of a 20-minute documentary, Parsis Through the Ages compiled by Karishma Bagli, daughter of the chief guest, depicting the persecution of Zoroastrians in Iran followed by how they settled and prospered in India. Bagli was complimented on the film by Play Centre president Nariman E. Mehta and vice president Homi P. Ustad.
