Salsette Parsi Colony

The Salsette Parsi Colony (SPC), situated at Andheri (East) has nine buildings, having six to eight floors. There are a good number of Parsi families residing in SPC.
For those traveling by train, the trouble does not end after getting down at Andheri (West). Even if a rickshaw does come forward, neither the rickshaw driver nor the passenger knows exactly how to proceed to SPC. There is only one landmark known as the ‘Old Pump House.’ After reaching this spot, one has to ask for directions to the Colony many a time since such directions are not given correctly.
I thought that I would write to the society of the Colony requesting them to place indicators at suitable places for the convenience of visitors.
I was nonplussed for a moment when I was told that there was no single society to protect the interests of the entire Colony. Of the nine buildings, there are as many as five societies for five buildings whilst the remaining four buildings have no societies at all. Under the circumstances, one is at a loss as to which society to approach to place suitable boards at strategic points.

Adi Patel, chairman, The Salsette Parsis Association replies
It is not possible to place directions on the road leading to the Salsette Colony. The Pump House is a well known area for the past many years and mostly all the rickshaw drivers know the place.
There are a total of six buildings in the Colony, along with the Seth Ardeshir Bhicajee Patel Dadgah and the Community Hall.
