Use space effectively

We should build up public opinion to force our Poona Parsee Panchayat trustees to convert our agiaries, which are hardly used (like the third agiary in the heart of Poona city which is just too difficult to approach) into housing for younger, newly married couples. Only they can produce more children and boost our ever-falling numbers.

There are two dakhmas in Poona of which only one is in use because it has parking space for cars/scooters. The other dakhma nearer the Lulla Nagar colonies is always clo­sed.

The real problem facing the Parsis is cheap rental housing. But in Bombay we see buildings like Spenta and another grand building in Khareghat Colony, flats in which only millionaire NRI Parsis in USA and UK can buy. The Petit multistoried apartments built on their valuable land will go to non-Parsis. Sad days ahead.
