May Queen Ball

Nine Zoroastrian participants between the ages of 15 and 20 walked the ramp confidently in sensational outfits when vying for the title of May Queen 2003 at the annual event organized by the Sir Ness Wadia Club (SNWC). Organized at the Club's lawn at Rustom Baug on April 30, 2003, 16-year-old Sherezad Shroff walked away with the coveted crown. In the question-answer round, compere Berges Tarapore posed queries from SARS to the US-Iraq war. Shroff was asked, "If you had a choice in marriage between cricketer Virendra Sehwag, who is a mama's boy and filmstar Govinda whose costume color combinations defy imagination, who would you choose and why?" Shroff replied, "Being a sports enthusiast myself, I would choose Virendra. Doesn't matter even if he's a mama's boy. Things will change once I enter his life." It was this confident answer that set apart Shroff from the rest of the contestants and won her the crown.
