Systems specialists

At Prerana, the inter-collegiate summer project contest hosted by NITIE in end 2001, Aashish Daver and Mitul Shah representing the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) were declared winners in the supply chain module, mentions a press release. With entries to this contest invited from the world over, the event is divided into six modules to ensure that projects of common disciplines compete against each other.

Daver: simplify procedures

Both Daver and Shah are engineers specializing in systems, pursuing a postgraduate diploma in business administration at the NMIMS which has been recently declared as equivalent to an MBA degree from any Indian university. They completed their summer training at Eureka Forbes Limited, the largest direct marketing company in Asia. The project undertaken by the two students required them to study the functioning of the company’s supply chain and thereby create a system that would simplify operating procedures, reduce cost of inventory and speed up information flow. Based on a presentation and a question-answer session with a panel of eight judges from reputed companies, NMIMS was declared the winner, states the write-up.
Prior to this victory at Prerana, the duo had won the All India Best Summer Project Contest hosted by the Institute of Management Consultants of India in September 2001 to locate the finest upcoming management talent across the country, adds the release.
