In praise of his prayers

Ervad Noshirwan Bhikhaji Andhya-rujina who died a year ago on Janaury 28, 2001 enjoyed the distinction of having his sonorous voice recorded on a CD, Once in a life-time, covering the enthronement of the sacred fire at the S. F. Jokhi Agiary at Bombay’s Godrej Baug. In the movie Such A Long Journey too he recites the prayers. He had taped his own cassettes and would generously give them to any one who was keen on learning our prayers. He trained many children before their navjotes. His recital of prayers had won him popularity and praise. Following his retirement from Cadburys after 27 years of service he was invited by his friend Ervad Asphandiar Dadachanji to join him to work as a priest at Vachaghandhy Agiary. He prayed with all his heart and his voice was loud and clear making him a favorite priest in the Agiary among the behdins. He had fantastic knowledge of our Zoroastrian religion and other religions as well.
