Mentoring start-ups

We know of the legacy that the earlier generations of Parsi entrepreneurs provided in terms of housing, health care, education and facilities for the underprivileged. Can our community afford to remain apathetic to creating wealth through entrepreneurship? Most innovations today come from entrepreneurs because in large organizations innovation disrupts the established way of doing things.
The World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce (WZCC) was established in Illinois, USA in December 2000 to keep alive the spirit of Zarathushti entrepreneurship and professionalism, to facilitate trade and commerce, and to guide start-ups on developing and implementing a business plan — a key attribute for business growth and success. WZCC has 15 chapters throughout the world, with three in India. The Mumbai Chapter, started in 2003, has the largest membership.
WZCC has formed a 10-member Business Advisory Committee to mentor start-ups and help them get funding for the resources that are critical for starting and growing the business. There are already six start-ups/young entrepreneurs who have benefitted by getting interest-free funds which are being repaid on a monthly basis.
The start-up is required to first study the book Learning to Succeed printed by the WZCC, then prepare a business plan based on the format provided and approach the Business Advisory Committee for guidance and mentoring to secure funds.
To obtain a copy of the book, contact the WZCC office by tel: 022 23532522 or mob: +91 9619165444, email: wzccindia@on-lyne.com. For non-members the cost of the book is Rs 300 plus courier charges, where applicable. Those who are committed to starting a business are welcome to ask for a meeting with the special advisor, Business Advisory Committee.
There is an often quoted saying that "If you don’t know where you are going, you will never be lost.” Many small businesses revel in the comfort that they are not lost because they do not know where they are heading or what opportunities or dangers lie ahead.
