Encourage enterprise
We started in this country as enterprisers, not as employees. We started enterprises to meet the needs of the community in general and in the bargain benefited ourselves, the community and the nation. We did it in many fields — industry. commerce, education, health, and even in charity. We tapered off over the years. The time has come when we should revive our spirit of enterprise in the interests of all concerned. We would do well to encourage our young people — young at heart we mean — to start an enterprise, part-time or full-time, or even as a hobby. We should encourage our young folk to consider enterprise as a viable and exciting career opportunity.
Towards this end, we at the World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce (WZCC) have started a Young Entrepreneurs’ Programme (YEP) to assist those interested to start enterprises, run them and grow them, and thereby help themselves and others.
Wherever we are, we can all assist this movement in two broad ways – one is to start an enterprise, part-time or full-time and another is to support an enterpriser. We can assist the enterpriser by giving the initial order, by lending/loaning our infrastructure facilities, by playing the angel investor or just by a word of encouragement.
We welcome you to use our setup to coordinate and channelize your support
to the cause of enterprise.
Another way we can help the enterprise movement in our community is to
spot enterprise opportunities. Every legitimate need that is not met and
every need that is not adequately met is an enterprise opportunity. Many
needs are not met in the area of caring for the elderly people, in the area of helping the young mothers who are working, in the area of education… Whichever way we feel like helping the movement let us do so and we will play the clearing house and helping hand.
