Association’s 97th anniversary: dignitaries and awardees
The celebrations and the prize distribution function was kicked off with a jashan led by Ervad Asphandiar Dadachanji and a hambandagi performed by the young mobeds of the Dadar Athornan Institute. The highlights of the Association’s activities for the year read out by committee member Pervin Sidhwa, the audience were presented with a monajat and an Abba number by community member Roshan Dastur.
The Navaz Jimi Kathawalla Memorial Prizes for their achievements were presented to aspiring automobile engineer Farzan Bharucha [second all-India rank in Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ISCE)]; medical student Husrav Sadri (third in the science stream in Maharashtra in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) class 12 examination]; ophthalmologist and gold medallist Dr Zelda Dadachanji; dentist Dr Shazneen Daruwalla and social worker Ronnie Bugwadia. The write-up notes that the winners were felicitated by educationist and chief guest Gool Ghadiali, Daruwala and others. A vote of thanks was proposed by Aloo Shroff.
