Support Surat Gymkhana

Philanthropic and kind-hearted Parsi Zarthoshtis of yesteryears have contributed sizeable funds for establishing various religious, educational and cultural institutions, including gymkhanas for promoting sports and physical culture all over India. With passage of time and shortage of funds such institutions could not be maintained properly.
Our Surat Parsi Gymkhana, though, situated in a posh, elegant area of Athwalines, Surat, too has faced similar problems since 1975, resulting in a dilapidated building. In fact, our Gymkhana was founded by sessions judge Diwan Bahadur Pirojsha Taleyarkhan, eminent advocate and renowned educationist Nusserwanji Vakil and ophthalmologist Dr Nadirsha Mogul, way back in 1938.

Surat Parsi Gymkhana: enrolling new members

In recent times, the committee has sincerely endeavored to renovate the buildings and other assets, and promote games like badminton, table tennis, billiard, volleyball and other indoor games once again. Although, we have started enrolling new Parsi members at reasonable membership fees, since it is open only to Parsis, we are facing difficulties in managing and maintaining the daily affairs of the Gymkhana on meager charges without any corpus funds.
We therefore look forward to generous donations from our large-hearted and sports loving philanthropic Zarthoshtis and also from our benevolent charitable institutions whose objectives are to promote sports, games and to enhance physical fitness in our young generation. We have started classes for mixed martial arts on the grounds and shortly we will be starting yoga classes. Incidentally, we arranged a charity drive on August 26, 2017 at Gandhi Smruti Bhavan with Yazdi Karanjia group’s hilarious drama Behram ni Sasu.
Your valuable donation may be sent by cheque favoring "The Surat Parsi Gymkhana” secretary Jimmy Kharadi, Naval Bungalow, Opposite Electric Substation, Adarsh Nagar, Athwalines, Surat 395001.
