Farzan Bharucha, who secured a second all-India rank in class 10 at the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination with 99.2%, ascribes his success to "being regular with my work.” In communication with Parsiana on June 1, 2017 three days after the results were announced, the Greenlawns High School student told us that "tutors put in their best to extract the most” out of him. Parents Hoshi, a chartered accountant with J. P. Morgan and Meherangiz, a home maker, "never put pressure on me, nor did they have any expectations, which helped me to work freely,” says the topper. "Friends played a part in helping me to recreate and socialize,” acknowledges the 16-year-old.

An aspiring automobile engineer, the lad says he has always loved cars. "The feel of cars is mesmerizing,” he avers. Especially fond of "American muscle cars like the Ford Mustang,” Bharucha believes that the automobile sector is a big attraction with "electric cars and autonomous vehicles being introduced into the market.” Especially fond of mathematics and physics, the topper loves playing cricket and football and is a fan of Argentine footballer Lionel Messi. Younger sister Binaisha studies in class eight at Greenlawns too. Bharucha told the Afternoon Despatch and Courier of May 30, that "neither did I want to prove anything to anyone, nor did I expect this… but always want to score good marks.” Bharucha shared the second spot with Debasree Pal from Calcutta. The first place was secured by Poona’s Muskan Pathan and Bangalore’s Ashwin Rao.
Hushrav Sadri of Jamnabai Narsee School who believes in "studying smart” stood third in the science stream in all of Maharashtra in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) class 12 examination. He scored 98.5% in science. "I believe in paying full attention in class, and revising smartly, those areas that should be revised,” he informed Parsiana on June 6. According to the student, his parents Phiroz, a restaurateur and Rashna a special educator, were particular about him studying hard, but "not stressed about the results.” A lover of dramatics and debating, the lad is currently appearing for his entrance examinations for medicine.
Of the 15 schools in Bardoli, the Parsi Zarathushti Educational and Charitable Trust’s Perin and Bomansha Mehta Secondary School is the only one to have secured 100% results in the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) examinations conducted in March 2017, informs a proud Pervez Mehta, managing trustee. The batch of 20 students of the school appeared for the first time in the examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board.
