Zoroastrianism via email

By Sherene Vakil · May 21, 2016

Ahunavar Academy, an institution started in 2005 by Ervad (Dr) Ramiyar Karanjia (pictured), principal of the Dadar Athornan Institute to disseminate religious and spiritual knowledge, is conducting an email course on "Let’s Understand Zoroastrianism,” informs Khojeste Bharucha, course coordinator, in an email to Parsiana. Course content is provided by Karanjia who writes that the "course is an attempt to bring understanding of the Zoroastrian religion to your doorstep. The information provided will be simple, easy to understand and authentic. (However), I would desist from entering into any debate or dialog arising out of the course.”
The first topic, in seven parts, covers what religion means, how to be religious and the basics of the Mazdayasni Zarathushti religion. The course also deals with misconceptions about the faith and helps clear doubts, while listing the impediments to a religious way of life. "Being religious does not come automatically. Efforts have to be made. Just knowing and understanding religion is not enough,” the email notes. "Religion can be of value only if it is practiced in daily life.” Bharucha may be contacted by email at: khojeste8@gmail.com
