Construction magnate and Padma Bhushan awardee Pallonji Mistry with a net worth of $ 13 billion was ranked 69th (previous year 60th with a net worth of $ 16 billion) in the world listing of billionaires. With industrialist and Serum Institute of India founder Dr Cyrus Poonawalla with a net worth of $ 8.1 billion at 149th position, (previous year at 283rd place with a net worth of $ 3.9 billion) they are two of the 111 billionaires in India, according to Hurun Global Rich List 2016, a ranking of global billionaires, released by Hurun Institute, a Shanghai based research firm on its website www.hurun.net.

Some other Zoroastrians listed are Jamshyd Godrej at 316th place with a net worth of $ 4.7 billion (previous year 374th place, $ 3.0 billion) and Adi Godrej, also at 316th place with a net worth of $ 4.7 billion (previous year 358th place, $ 3.1 billion. Nusli Wadia of the Wadia group weighs in at 637th place with a net worth of $ 2.9 billion (previous year 932nd place, $ 1.9 billion), followed by Rishad Naoroji at 792nd place with a net worth of $ 2.4 billion (previous year 483rd place, $ 2.6 billion). Ratan Tata is placed 1,145th with a net worth of $ 1.8 billion (previous year 1,911th place, $ 1.0 billion) and Anu Aga at 1,964th place with a net worth of $ 1.0 billion (previous year 1,391st place, $ 1.4 billion).

Trailing Gates in the global list were American investor Warren Buffet (second, $ 68 billion) and Spanish fashion businessman Amancio Ortega (third, $ 64 billion).
In its fifth year of operation, Hurun’s website states that in 2016, for the first time, the number of Chinese billionaires (568) overtook USA (535). Together, these countries make up half of Hurun’s list of 2,188 world billionaires.
