The learned man
Darius K spoke at the Udvada fest/ And let loose a hornet’s nest./ The orthos condemned him in a united voice,/ The reformists all cheered and did rejoice.
Anyway, what did he say,/ This Darius K,/ That provoked such a strong emotion/ Amongst the orthos, that put a controversy in motion?
Well, "Zoroastrianism is universal,” did he dub,/ And not just for Parsis, an exclusive club./ A brave thing to do, indeed in Udvada Gaam,/ Can’t get away without any harm.
Actually all that he did was point out a flaw/ And the gibbet held his hand in awe,/ Condemning this learned man, an expert on law.
The orthos screamed "Desist,/ This man can’t preach, he ain’ no priest./ He’s polluting here, our holy air,/ And turning our Gaam into a village fair.”/ But thank God in this pristine place,/ None poked pencils or flung a chair.
Now while the orthos are spoiling for a fight,/ The reformists are smug and sitting tight. DARA KHODAIJI
