Junior Red Cross active
Child actor Darsheel Safary, now nearly 20 years old, who essayed the lead role as a dyslexic child in Taare Zameen Par when he was nine years old, was guest of honor at the annual cultural program and prize distribution function of the Junior Red Cross (JRC) held at the Homi J. H. Taleyarkhan Memorial Hall of the Red Cross in Bombay on February 20, 2016, mentions a write-up on the event sent to Parsiana by Godrej Dotivala, JRC president.

Dotivala told the gathering that the youth wing of the Red Cross conducts numerous activities for students in 232 schools and 34 junior colleges in Maharashtra state. Chief guest Yazdi Desai, chairman of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet and a founder trustee of the World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis (WAPIZ), who was accompanied by his wife Anahita, chief executive officer of WAPIZ, congratulated all the youngsters who participated in the cultural programs.
Patriotic songs were sung by students of Anjuman-e-Islam Begum Sharifa Kaleskar Girls’ English School followed by a lezim dance and acrobatic display by children of the Kamla High School in Khar who formed a human pyramid. Tiny tots of the Blossoms Sunderbai Thackersey English High School did the duck dance, mentions the write-up. Rajesh Satghar, JRC honorary secretary showed an audiovisual depicting the organization’s activities.
Managing committee member Dr Francesca Aranha compered the function and Errick Elavia, principal of Lady Engineer High School proposed a vote of thanks.
