“First charter of human...”
I was happy to read the letter by Dilnavaz Bhagwagar ("First charter of human rights,” Readers’ Forum, Parsiana, December 21, 2015). It was Cyrus the Great who was the first to give this charter to the world.
Sydney, Australia has paid great tribute to this when its grand band played Thus Spake Zarathustra at its World Games before the monument of Cyrus. Could a greater tribute be paid to the great king?
When I had been invited by the late President Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam to meet him because I had worked all my life for the betterment of teenagers in every sphere with little by way of remuneration, he had said: "Don’t say you Parsis are small in numbers because your contributions to the country have been vast.”
