Mystery of the money

I have read in an English language daily newspaper that the mystery of the Rs 21 lakhs found in cash in a cupboard in the office of the late chief executive officer (CEO) of the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) has been solved. The police have stated that as the CEO had cancer, he perhaps ‘forgot’ to account for cash donations that may have been received from donors. This explanation has been found satisfactory by the BPP chairman and presumably by the other trustees as well. Most importantly, the police accept this.
This is a lame hare-brained excuse of a solution that reeks of a huge cover up; another of the shenanigans of the merry band of community leaders who have let us down consistently during their tenure as trustees. JAMSHED IRANI
