Tata: Give Modi time
With industry honchos wondering when Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s much vaunted reforms will kick in and, more importantly, show results, the PM has received a vote of confidence from not one but two heads of the Tata group — former and current. The theme of Ratan Tata and Cyrus Mistry’s endorsement is that Modi needs to be given time to deliver on his promises.
Answering a query during the convocation of the Mumbai International School of Business Bocconi on how the economy was faring under the new regime, Tata explained: "All of us should understand that it’s a new government, and we need not get disillusioned and dissatisfied so fast,” reported The Economic Times (ET) on April 18, 2015. "There is a great deal of hope in the inspirational leadership of Modi. He is still in the early stages of defining what he hopes to deliver… The implementation hasn’t really taken form this year. But we still have to give him the opportunity to implement what he has promised… We’re all hopeful that the country will move forward in the manner that Modi predicted... both internationally and domestically.”

Narendra Modi: "inspirational leadership"
While attending the Hannover Fair, Mistry echoed Tata’s sentiments: "A number of legislative changes have been made which we have never heard of or seen before. The government has undertaken a number of policy initiatives in the past few months. The government is actually laying the foundation for what will come in the future,” reported Daily News and Analysis (DNA) on April 20, 2015. In order to ensure sustainable growth, "there is a need for change in the mindset of corporates, bureaucracy and government and we are going through that phase. We are very positive about the future, but it will take time,” Mistry maintained.
